Soundtrack to be released May 4

16 song CD includes 10 unreleased cuts

“ Don’t Cry to Me-Songs from the film King of Bluegrass” will be released by Thrill Jockey Records on May 4th. The soundtrack is packed with live archival recordings, including many from the late 1950s and early 1960s. There are some amazing cuts from his days on the Louisiana Hayride, and three songs performed in the early 1960s that were recorded by Mike Seeger at West Grove, PA. There’s also a performance by Jimmy and company at the first ever bluegrass festival in Fincastle, VA. Stay tuned for more info on the soundtrack.
