Chicago, IL-- Kathleen and I have been working for the past 7 or 8 months in the editing studio. It has been slow at times because of my having a full-time day job to help pay for this film. I cut back to three days a week at work recently and things are moving much quicker. Have gotten some great photos recently from Jimmy and Mary Ann, as well as the Grand Ole Opry Museum, the Country Music Hall of Fame, and from Joey Kent at the Louisiana Hayride. They have really helped bring the historical sections to life.
The story has really come together. Jimmy's a very complex person. We've really spent a lot of time trying to bring out some of those complexities. We have also been trying to articulate his significance as a teacher and performer.
Right now we are focusing on finishing the edit by mid September so we can begin to enter the film into some key film festivals. We'll keep you updated on our progress on that front.
